GEMA Awards Statue Reveal Film
The Challenge

As part of LUCIDO’s role as the Official Creative Partner for the 2025 GEMA Awards, we were commissioned to create the launch film for The GEMA, a newly designed award statue destined to become the highest symbol of creative and strategic excellence in entertainment marketing.
The challenge was not simply to reveal a trophy, but to introduce a new industry icon. The film needed to communicate prestige, legacy, and aspiration while creating a memorable moment for its first public unveiling at the GEMA Europe Awards. It also had to align seamlessly with the broader visual identity system developed for the awards season, reinforcing a sense of anticipation that had been building for months.
The Solution

Inspired by the concept "A Refined Reflection of Who We Are," we approached the film as a cinematic brand reveal rather than a product presentation.
Through light, reflection, and movement, the statue became a metaphor for the many facets of entertainment marketing: creativity, strategy, innovation, and cultural influence. Rather than revealing the object immediately, we carefully orchestrated a sequence of abstract forms, premium materials, and dramatic lighting that gradually unveiled its presence.
The goal was to transform the reveal into an emotional experience, positioning The GEMA as more than an award. It became a symbol of the industry itself and the people who shape how the world experiences entertainment.

The Process
The project combined creative direction, 3D design, look development, animation, lighting, rendering, compositing, editing, and sound design.
A premium visual language guided every decision. Cinematic lighting, reflective surfaces, and carefully choreographed motion were used to emphasize the sculptural qualities of the statue while building anticipation toward the final reveal.
The film premiered during the GEMA Europe Awards 2025, where The GEMA was unveiled to the global entertainment marketing community for the very first time in "La Tabakalera" in San Sebastian (Spain).

Following its debut, the film continued its journey across GEMA's major international ceremonies, including screenings at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles and The Brewery in London, helping establish The GEMA as a recognizable symbol across the organization’s global awards platform.
The reveal marked the culmination of a broader visual narrative developed throughout the awards season and became a defining moment in the evolution of the GEMA brand.
